Recently, to promote the joint development of the Clinical Rehabilitation Center between Guiyang Healthcare Vocational University and MAHSA University in Malaysia, Liu Yanli from the School of Nursing and Luo Minghong from the School of Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences visited MAHSA University for an academic exchange.
During the visit, the GHVU faculty met with Professor Ara, Chief Operating Officer of MAHSA University, and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Shalini. The two parties engaged in multiple in-depth discussions regarding their respective disciplinary development and unique features in the fields of nursing and rehabilitation. They also explored specific paths and areas for cooperation. Both sides expressed a strong desire to pursue deeper collaboration in teaching, research, and student training.

In a series of academic sessions, the GHVU faculty delivered high-level lectures and on-site teaching demonstrations focusing on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) rehabilitation. Liu Yanli presented a lecture titled 'Introduction to Traditional Chinese Rehabilitation Techniques,' elaborating on the theoretical foundations and clinical applications of acupuncture, tuina, and moxibustion. Luo Minghong followed with a lecture on 'TCM Rehabilitation for Cervical Spondylosis,' providing an in-depth explanation of TCM pathogenesis, diagnosis techniques, and targeted therapeutic approaches. These lectures showcased the university’s academic achievements in TCM nursing and rehabilitation education, and represented a new exploration into the internationalization of TCM curriculum standards.

In practical training sessions, the two lecturers demonstrated a variety of traditional Chinese therapies including cupping, gua sha, acupuncture, and moxibustion, while also donating related training equipment to MAHSA University.

Additionally, the delegation toured key areas of MAHSA University’s affiliated hospital, including outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and inpatient wards. They also explored MAHSA’s practical teaching centers and experienced their curriculum and instructional methods.

This visit enriched the framework for building a collaborative Clinical Rehabilitation Center between GHVU and MAHSA University, further strengthening bilateral cooperation in nursing and rehabilitation education. It also significantly contributed to the global dissemination of professional, curriculum, and teaching standards in these fields. Moving forward, both institutions will take this exchange as an opportunity to deepen collaboration in nursing and clinical rehabilitation, jointly advancing the international cultivation of healthcare talents.
